Vietnamese New Year is the biggest holiday in Vietnam. It is also the Chinese New Year. Today marks the end of a lunar year and the beginning of a new year. Tet is celebrated between the 1st and 7th day of the lunar year is roughly between the last week of January and the 3rd of February (before or after this period).
The spirits of ancestors return to earth for a day. Vietnam and its diaspora is everywhere, we celebrate the event with lots of flowers, firecrackers and fireworks. Tet also marks the arrival of spring, hence its Vietnamese name meaning "feast of first dawn."
The Vietnamese took the opportunity to take their holidays at that time: three days are holidays, but many take a good week of vacation. Warning: offices shut their doors, the hotels are full, the planes are full to bursting, public transport idling ... In short, all activity suspended the country seems to celebrate Christmas with joy and exuberance .
This festival is found primarily in major cities.
